About
We are delighted to present the Gift of Sight ‘Beating Blindness’ Lecture 2025. This will be a hybrid event with the option of taking part in person at The Concorde in Eastleigh, or online from the comfort of your own home.
Join vision scientists from the University of Southampton to find out about the team’s ongoing research projects. These will include the latest news on age-related macular degeneration (AMD) from Professor Andrew Lotery; a fascinating insight into retinal stem cell biology by Dr Jörn Lakowski; and advances in sight-saving treatments for children by Dr Eloise Keeling. Dr James Self will host the event with questions and answers moderated by Dr Helena Lee.
Date: Wednesday, 14th May 2025
In person: 5:45pm – 8:00pm. Welcome soft drinks will be served on arrival, with an opportunity to meet some of the vision scientists before and after the lecture.
Venue: The Concorde, Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh, SO50 9HQ
Online: Lecture from 6:30-7:30pm. A joining link will be sent to you by email one week before the event.
