The team of 27 students from right across the University have made more than 13,000 calls over the last six weeks, resulting in nearly 3,000 conversations with our community. It’s a great opportunity for them to learn more about where a degree at Southampton can take you, as well as receiving career advice from first-hand experts in the sectors they’re interested in.
We’ve also heard more about the historical high-jinks our community got up to during their time here – from romantic first meetings on the Jesters dancefloor, to hitch-hiking trips across Europe. It’s always incredible to see how the Southampton connection brings us all together!
This year, even the Vice Chancellor got involved in the call room. Professor Mark E Smith jumped right in and joined the phonelines for some fantastic conversations with alumni and supporters.
On top of all of that, you’ve donated generously to the Ignite Programme and the Cancer Immunology Fund, helping to ensure that these amazing initiatives can keep going. This support makes a profound difference to the lives of disadvantaged students, and the work that our amazing cancer scientists can do, so if you’ve donated at any point we’d like to say a huge thank you.
If you didn’t receive a call from a student this year, and you’d like to, you can help us keep in contact with you by updating your details.
