We are delighted to welcome everyone who graduated from the University this summer. Congratulations on your achievement and we hope you enjoyed your special day with your friends and family.

You now join a global community of more than 200,000 alumni spanning over 180 countries. Our alumni come from a rich mixture of backgrounds, work across a wide range of professions and are spread throughout the world. Your shared experience of, and pride in, the University of Southampton connects you all. The wealth of experiences and personal relationships you have developed while at Southampton will continue to serve you in the years ahead.

Graduation is a day to celebrate the results of your hard work and your time at the University. It’s also a day to have some well-earned fun. So on that note, the infographics above show a few light-hearted graduation facts for you.

  • 94% of our full-time undergraduates who received their degrees last year were in employment or further study six months after graduating (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey)

  • Among the top 100 employers of Southampton graduates are the NHS, the Armed Forces/Ministry of Defence, Deloitte, Price Waterhouse Coopers, JP Morgan, EY (Ernst & Young) KPMG, BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, Jaguar Land Rover and IBM
  • We are ranked 17th among universities targeted by the largest number of top employers in 2014-15 (Graduate Market in 2015 report, prepared by High Flier Research)
