This year marks the first year that a full cohort of students from our Ignite Programme will graduate from the University.
Ignite is the University’s flagship widening participation programme that aims to create a fairer future for students from underrepresented backgrounds. Entirely funded by your alumni and supporter donations, this extensive three-year programme seeks to address educational inequality. It offers a blend of financial, academic, career, and personal opportunities to help students reach their full potential and achieve their ambitions in life.
Ignite provides a holistic programme of support for students from under-represented backgrounds and has been praised as an example of best practice in widening participation and social mobility.
The Ignite Programme started in 2017, supporting one exceptional student. Since then, thanks to the generous donations from your community, Ignite has gone from strength to strength, growing to provide support for a cohort of 30 students each year.
Our final-year Ignite students are now heading into their exams, the last challenge before they go out into the world and take the next step towards their bright futures. Many of them are already well on their way to successful careers, including Jade, who has secured a training contract with a major law firm.
If you would like to send a message of encouragement to our Ignite students ahead of their exams, please send us an email and we will pass on your kind words.
