In Conversation with poet Kaycee Hill
Join us for an evening with James Berry Poetry Prize winner, Kaycee Hill as she reads poems from her hotly anticipated debut collection. Now based near Bristol, she was born in Winchester and grew up in a working-class, mixed-heritage home- British and Caribbean- in Andover. Raised on poetry from outside of the canon, from lyricists such as Lauren Hill, Floetry and Sade, as well as dub poets like Lillian Allan and Benjamin Zephaniah. Kaycee’s poetry looks at eco-poetics, exploring the female body and the intricacies of growing up in an urban pastoral landscape. Hear about her creative journey and some of her works on Tuesday 24th October from 6pm at the Sir James Matthews Building, Guildhall Square
