Over 200 staff, students and alumni came together this February at the Hilton Hotel, Ageas Bowl, to celebrate Medicine’s 40th Graduation Anniversary Ball.
Professor Iain Cameron, Dean of Medicine, welcomed attendees, before the band, Medics Revue, started the evening of celebration and entertainment off with a performance.
Guests also had the opportunity to take part in a Balloon Raffle, held in aid of the Centre for Cancer Immunology, which raised £460; the centre is due for completion this year.
In the 40 years since the first cohort of students graduated from Medicine at the University, we have trained thousands of doctors and scientists, and have led cutting-edge research into areas as diverse as: cancer, osteoporosis, asthma and nutrition.
We lead innovative learning and discovery across the lifecourse from before birth to older people, by investing in multidisciplinary research teams, creative educational programmes and developing external partnerships and collaborations.
